Roaming around photo sites and suddenly catched a title “MIDWAY, a Message from the Gyre” and an introduction which can touch to everybody’s heart. The short film tells a story about the fate of baby albatrosses who live in the Midway Atoll – a cluster of remote islands in the North Pacific Ocean. They seek for food and are poisoned by the garbage from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch – the world biggest floating garbage area. Unintentionally, the albatrosses consume food which includes plastic materials and dying gradually due to poinsoned digestive system. The images are extremely touching and strongly motivate us to give a hand to protect our eco-environment.
